Evolution

Perhas the above link is Intelligent Design, but I don't think so. It is the funniest 6 minutes on the internet though and worth a look.

My computer has been down for 2 weeks, though peeved with the Apple people, and completely paralyzed at the thought of opening up my email to the 961 messages awaiting, I am glad I did to find the treasure that the click on the Evolution title will take you.

Buy Locally

Ya know, it is all the rage. It will make it easier for me to declare the PNW the Independent Nation-State of Cascadia, too.

But I digress...http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif
I bought a Peugeot that runs on diesel so I can drive BioDiesel. I have fantasies about starting a local, neighborhood BioDiesel Coop, where we would make our own fuel out of used veggie oil. I mean, where the hell does all that fry grease go to anyway? There must be a gillion gallons a day generated. Think of the McDonalds, Chinese joints and all those fish and chips place. All those Chips places. Like Tims!! The Oil, I must have the oil. Tim's used to be local. Now is is owned by Birdseye Foods.

Please take a minute to watch Daryl Hanna's google video podcast type thing on biodiesel

Also not in a great mood

I read Jon's blog to cheer myself up, and it didn't work at all. I found out a friend of mine, or father of a friend, has cancer and moved back to France where he will get medical care purely because he is French. Imagine, having medical coverage because you were born. It's so crazy, it might work.

I went to the Pac Forest for a little rest and relaxation and didn't do much of either. Driving through the miles of clear cut forest and depressed timber towns to stay at a compound of wealthy urbanites made me kinda feel ill. And feel hypocritical, given that I have a cabin too.

So...that is that.

Signs o' the Times

For me, I lie or is it lay, in bed and wonder why every spring I have to re-identify the songs I am listening to outside. They are from birds. I know that. I was watching a Bush Tit. The one pictured's name is Bill. A funny name for a bird I think, and is has a copy write. I want a copywrite. Eveytime someone says, Sally Anne, they might pay me a nickle or the like. Just a thought...) The bush tit in bhe back yard flying about, was working to build its nest outside my window in the giant fir. That is really fun, cause they look like socks, and the bird swoops up in a backward S shape to fly in and reverses that to fly out of the nest.

For me, Spring has really come when the Violet Green Swallow have made their way to the Hither Lands of Wallingford.

If it seems like I am copying Jon's blog, I am. He is my muse. The Muse of Ornithology.
